As a Software Consultant, a typical day may include the following :
Brainstorming with fellow consultants and solution architects on how to build a responsive portal for a construction project management systemDesigning, developing, integrating, and customizing Oracle WebCenter products utilizing various development technologies such as front-end web development technologies (HTML / CSS, JavaScript, etc.) and JavaImplementing content-focused solutions, including web content management, document management, digital asset management, and records management for a healthcare companyBuilding an integration with a database and presenting the information to a user based on their role and geographic locationLearning how to be a consultant from company leaders, mentors, and senior team members, and through interactions with clients, facilitating meetings, and answering questions via email and / or telephoneWriting Java and JavaScript code to enhance the user experience and efficiency of a search results interfaceBuilding an innovative front-end experience with Google for enterprise searchSupporting a website and content management system for a city government clientProviding leadership, technical, and project assistance to less experienced team membersDeveloping documentation for software and customizations, including user guides, installation guides, requirements analysis, design specifications, and custom training materialsRequired Experience :
3 - 5 years of development experience with the following technologies : Java, HTML, JavaScript, SQL, and relational databasesExperience working with different Operating Systems, including LINUX, UNIX, and Windows, along with OS Admin experience - file permissions, directory access, remote accessSelf-starter, results-oriented, able to work in a team environment as well as independentlyAbility to demonstrate good judgment, tact, and a clear purpose while under pressure in a very dynamic environmentExcellent time management and prioritization skills; ability to meet deadlines and handle multiple projects at onceBachelor's Degree in Computer Science or a related fieldPreferred Skills :
Knowledge of web and application server technologies, including IIS, Apache Web Server, and TomcatExperience implementing the Oracle WebCenter platform, with a focus on Content Server, Digital Asset Management, and Site Studio modulesExperience / familiarity with Google Search ApplianceExperience with other content management solutionsExperience with website design (GUI tools, user experience design, site structure)
