Job Title
Omni Oklahoma City Hotel is seeking an energetic Retail Supervisor to join the team of this upscale hotel.
Responsibilities
The responsibilities include :
- Managing and overseeing all Rarebird associates and activities.
- Proactively working to improve the Rarebird experience for guests.
- Helping in the process of interviewing and selecting job applicants as well as supervising, disciplining, and giving performance evaluations for retail department employees.
- Scheduling staff and completing payroll records in accordance with budgeted guidelines.
- Conducting and scheduling vendor training to provide product information on lines sold in designated outlets.
- Approaching all encounters with guests and associates in a friendly, service-oriented manner.
- Being thoroughly acquainted with all technical equipment to fully utilize its capabilities and extend efficient services to hotel guests.
- Creating a selling culture through sales training and weekly performance feedback. Monitoring weekly and monthly sales performance guidelines for each Sales Associate to ensure they are achieving budgeted sales objectives.
- Coaching, counseling, and disciplining staff as needed.
- Participating in monthly physical inventories for designated outlets including coordination of staff and resolution of variances and accountable for results with store supervisor.
- Making recommendations to Director of Rooms during annual budget preparation and during monthly forecasting exercise.
- Analyzing product performance. Making recommendations to Director of Rooms regarding current stock levels and new trends or product lines appropriate for designated outlets.
- Working closely with Engineering to maintain proper mechanical operation and report any problems found in the Retail areas.
- Being responsible for the administration of goods, requisitions, inventories, storage, and cost-effective usage of all department-related materials and assets, according to standards to ensure smooth operation.
- Overseeing the cleanliness and coordinating special requirements with Housekeeping, Laundry, Stewarding, and Engineering.
- Responding properly in any hotel emergency or safety situation.
- Adhering to all policies regarding employee purchases.
- Following proper procedures for all logs, receipts, and returns.
- Following proper procedures for accepting credit card, checks, cash, rooms charges, and holds.
- Not leaving merchandise unsecured.
Qualifications
The qualifications include :
At least 2 years experience in a similar position preferred.Past experience in new store opening marketing, financial forecasting, and experience with diverse retail merchandise offering preferred.Reading, writing, and oral proficiency in the English language required, must be able to communicate with guests and staff professionally and with empathy.Must have a flexible schedule and be willing to work nights, weekends, and holidays when necessary.Move, bend, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing up to 40 pounds without assistance.Stand, walk, or sit for an extended period or for an entire work shift.Requires repetitive motion, including utilizing telephone / computer for an extended period or for an entire shift.Omni Hotels & Resorts is an equal opportunity employer - vets / disability.
