Overview

Web Marketing Specialist role at Northern Virginia Community College (NOVA). The position supports marketing initiatives, especially on the NOVA website, and collaborates with marketing peers, the Web Services team, and internal stakeholders to analyze and optimize content and applications for prospective students.

Base pay range

$65,000.00 / yr - $75,000.00 / yr

Job Description

The Web Marketing Specialist is responsible for creating, refining, evaluating, developing, implementing and optimizing marketing initiatives, particularly on the NOVA website. The Specialist will work with internal teams and stakeholders to continuously analyze and optimize content and applications geared toward prospective students.

Duties And Tasks

  • Create, review, implement, develop and promote marketing content independently.
  • Support achievement of annual enrollment goals.
  • Partner with internal teams and external partners to deliver objectives.
  • Manage and optimize software (e.g., EAB Virtual Tour) to maximize effectiveness, resolve technical issues, and lead strategy on platform usage.
  • Maintain brand guidelines across the college.
  • Write, edit and evaluate existing text on the NOVA website to ensure a student perspective is captured.

Special Assignments

May be required to perform other duties as assigned. May be required to assist the agency or state government in the event of an emergency declaration by the Governor.

  • Strong copywriting and editing skills.
  • Conceptual and strategic thinking ability.
  • Ability to set priorities, manage resources, identify problems, and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to learn new technologies quickly.
  • Ability to work well in a team and take direction.

    • Minimum Work Experience

  • Experience segmenting audiences (e.g., prospective students, current students, adult learners) and tailoring messaging to specific populations.
  • Experience applying brand pillars, elements, and visuals to materials and communications.
  • Experience using platforms / tools to develop marketing strategies (CMS, Adobe Creative Suite).
  • Project management experience.
  • Experience in marketing, communications, web marketing, or related field.

    • Additional Considerations

  • Experience in higher education, especially admissions and enrollment.
  • Experience with Salesforce / Salesforce Marketing Cloud or other CRM.
  • Experience with CMS.
  • Experience with Qualtrics.
