Purpose of the Position

The Director, Inclusion and Strategic Communications will develop and implement an enterprise-wide strategy to amplify Flynn’s mission, support its core values, and drive employee engagement. This pivotal role will champion Flynn’s commitment to fostering an inclusive, engaging, and high-performing organizational culture. As the steward of our inclusion strategy and communications narrative, this leader will not only help shape the employee experience but also elevate our employer brand and external reputation. They will play a critical role in aligning messaging, driving engagement, and amplifying the voices and stories that define who we are and aspire to be.

Specifically, this role will have three primary functions :

(1) Lead Flynn’s enterprise-wide Culture & Inclusion strategy, aligning with business objectives and commitments.

(2) Develop and implement a comprehensive, integrated internal communications and employee engagement strategy.

(3) Elevate Flynn’s employer brand and Flynn’s executive team through strategic external communications.

The successful candidate will have a track record of leading an integrated communications and employee engagement strategy across digital, social, and in-person channels. A consultative partner to the executive team and our operators, the Director, Inclusion and Strategic Communications, will be adept at building relationships across the organization. This is an exciting opportunity for a self-starting, dynamic, experienced professional to elevate the inclusion and communications disciplines during a time of growth for the organization.

Key Responsibilities

The Director, Inclusion and Strategic Communications, will be responsible for driving an integrated inclusion and communications strategy to reach key stakeholders including employees, executives, franchisees, and the public. Specific responsibilities will include, but not be limited to, the following :

Inclusion

• Lead Flynn’s enterprise-wide Culture & Inclusion strategy, aligning with business objectives and commitments.
• Contribute to creating and promoting a culture of inclusion, commitment, accountability, and equity, leveraging diversity best practices, research, and benchmark data.
• Design and deploy methods that help monitor organizational climate (e.g., pulse surveys, listening sessions, annual inclusion survey, focus groups) to assess culture health and identify opportunities for improvement.
• Direct Flynn’s Premier Networks (Employee Resource Groups), including strategy, programming, governance, and executive engagement.
• Drive the execution and evolution of Cultural Awareness campaigns, partnering with brands and senior leaders.
• Lead and support Flynn’s Mentor Program, including quarterly mentee onboarding, mentor certification, and program evaluation.
• Collaborate with HR and cross-functional teams to embed fairness and inclusion across talent practices : recruitment, promotion, performance management, and policy.
• Facilitate learning opportunities, resources, and strategic partnerships to increase understanding and adoption of inclusive leadership behaviors.
• Manage Culture & Inclusion related community engagement and partnerships with external organizations, including nonprofit partners, chambers, and advocacy groups.
• Collaborate with HR Partners, Operations, Talent Acquisition, and Learning & Development to integrate culture commitments and inclusive practices into the full employee experience.
