- Properly prepares the examination and treatment areas per clinic standards.\n
- Completes patient rooming procedures to include vital signs, data collection and other identified components specific to the clinic setting and within outlined Scope of Responsibilities.\n
- Accurately administers and documents unit dose medications / immunizations in accordance with clinic policy following successful training / competency.\n
- Performs EKG's and laboratory testing per CLIA license of the clinic following successful training / competency.\n
- Ensures documentation in the patient record is accurate, clear, concise within outlined Scope of Responsibilities. May function as provider scribe following successful training.\n
- Completes all assigned clerical activities and supply maintenance / ordering as directed.\n
- Assists with scheduling follow up care / appointments as ordered / directed.\n
- Distributes pre-printed / pre-approved patient education materials. Directs all patient questions to provider or RN.\n
- Functions within the documented Monument Health Scope of Responsibilities.\n
- All other duties as assigned.\n\nAdditional Requirements\n\nRequired : \nEducation - High School Diploma / GED Equivalent in General Studies; Graduate of an Accredited Medical Assistant University or accredited training facility\nCertification - Medical Assistant-Certified (MA) by one of the listed certifying bodies; Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Professional Certification - American Heart Association (AHA) - Within 60 days of hire or transfer.\n\nAny Medial Assistant hired between July 1, 2021 and June 30, 2024 may be granted 6 months to obtain national certification.\n\nAny Medical Assistant hired after July 1, 2024 must hold one of the following national certifications upon hire : \n\n
