Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role for a Communications Specialist located in Fort Belvoir, VA at Program Executive Office Soldier. The Communications Specialist will be responsible for communication strategies, writing and editing press releases, developing internal communications, and executing strategic communications plans.
Experience : 5 years as a writer, copy editor, or similar profession with AP journalism-type experience.
Education : Bachelor’s Degree in a related field (e.g., Communications, Journalism, English, etc.)
Communications Specialist for a DoD PAO / PR Support Contract : A candidate for this position must possess and independently apply a comprehensive knowledge across key tasks and high impact assignments to coordinate with customers for explicit guidance regarding communication activities in order to promote public understanding of the military organization, programs, and products.
This position will use a variety of methods and techniques in achieving communication goals such as : product exhibits, brochures, pamphlets, graphics, local and national news, Armed Forces Radio, Television Services, etc. Support the PAO by helping implement the Strategic Communication Plan to improve relationships and partnerships by informing target audiences of the Organization’s mission and accomplishments, resulting to better support to Soldier products and programs.
Security Clearance : Must possess a Secret or higher Security Clearance
Place of Performance : This Communications Specialist position job performance will be with the US ARMY PEO SOLDIER organization at Ft. Belvoir, VA.
Salary Range : $100K-105K
