The State of Connecticut, Department of Transportation (DOT), is accepting applications for Transportation Engineer Trainee positions at the DOT Headquarters in Newington, CT. Transportation Engineer Trainees work in many different capacities agency-wide with positions available throughout the Bureau of Engineering and Construction.

Position Highlights

• Full Time, 40 hours per week
• Monday through Friday, first shift
• Location : DOT Headquarters, Newington, CT
• Travel for training, conferences, meetings, field reviews, etc. may be required
• Valid motor vehicle operator\'s license required and must be maintained
• Eligible to apply for telework after successful completion of the working test period, and thereafter, in accordance with the Telework Policy

Purpose of Job Class : In the Department of Transportation and the Connecticut Airport Authority, this class is accountable for receiving training in introductory professional engineering work to develop transportation engineering skills and knowledge.

Examples of Duties : Perform a wide variety of increasingly difficult duties as technical skills are acquired during training.

Possession of a Bachelor\'s degree.
