ASSOCIATE TECH DESIGNER (CONTRACT / FT )

Buck Mason is seeking a men's technical designer with experience in Men's Denim, Bottoms, & Outerwear to oversee the development of ready-to-wear pieces. Responsibilities include developing technical packages, creating specs, evaluating garments for fit and construction, running fittings, and coordinating with factories and the design team.

Technical Designer Responsibilities :

  • Perform fittings and identify fit corrections to achieve final approvals, taking detailed notes during fit sessions.
  • Evaluate and specify samples to ensure compliance with specs, construction, and overall quality.
  • Communicate garment corrections clearly to domestic and overseas vendors to ensure quality samples.
  • Incorporate fit feedback to improve product quality.
  • Ensure timely processing of samples and comments.
  • Collaborate with Design and Product Development teams to ensure design intent and high quality of fit, construction, and workmanship.

Requirements :

  • Meet deadlines, prioritize effectively, adapt to change, and maintain composure under pressure.
  • Prepare technical specification packages with construction details for vendors.
  • Provide vendors with corrective action recommendations, including photos and diagrams, via email and video calls as needed.
  • Offer technical solutions for fit and construction issues.
  • Adhere to department standards for product fit and process compliance.
  • Knowledge of pattern making, garment construction, grading, and vendor communication.

    • Qualifications :

  • Experience in Bottoms, Denim, Outerwear.
  • 3-5 years in Technical Design or Patternmaking.
  • Deep knowledge of fabric, materials, construction, and fit.
  • On-site position.
