Position Summary
The Associate Merchandiser / Designer supports the development and execution of product assortments that align with brand strategy, customer needs, and market trends. This role bridges creative design and merchandising functions-assisting with trend research, product design, line planning, and cross-functional communication to ensure cohesive and commercially viable collections.
Key Responsibilities
Merchandising
- Assist in developing seasonal product assortments based on trend, sales, and competitive analysis.
- Partner with the Merchandising Manager to build line plans and manage SKU productivity and performance.
- Track and analyze sales performance to identify opportunities for growth or improvement.
- Support the product development process, ensuring timelines, costing, and quality standards are met.
- Prepare presentation materials for internal line reviews and buyer meetings.
Design
Conduct market, color, and trend research to inform seasonal design concepts.Create and update CADs, tech packs, and presentation boards for internal and customer meetings.Collaborate with design and production teams to ensure brand consistency and design integrity from concept through final product.Maintain organized digital and physical archives of designs, fabrics, and trims.Support fit sessions, sample reviews, and revisions with technical and production teams.Cross-Functional Collaboration
Communicate effectively with Production, Sales, and Licensing teams to align on product strategy and deliverables.Coordinate with overseas vendors and factories regarding sample development and revisions.Participate in key milestone meetings, providing input on product opportunities and consumer insights.Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Merchandising, Fashion Design, or related field.1-3 years of experience in apparel merchandising or design, preferably in licensed or branded product categories.Strong understanding of trend analysis, color theory, and consumer preferences.Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop), Microsoft Excel, and PLM systems.Excellent organizational and communication skills with strong attention to detail.Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.Core Competencies
