Payroll & Benefits Specialist
About the Role :
Our client, a publicly traded organization, is seeking a Payroll & Benefits Specialist to oversee payroll accuracy, benefits administration, and compliance across a growing, global workforce. This individual will ensure the integrity of payroll and benefits for 400+ U.S. employees and international team members across 6+ countries.
Responsibilities :
Payroll Administration :
Full ownership of bi-weekly U.S. payroll for 400+ multi-state employees via ADP Workforce Now, ensuring accurate processing of new hires, terminations, wage changes, deductions, garnishments, and reimbursements.
Manage monthly international payrolls across 6+ countries in partnership with global EOR / entities.
Deliver timely and accurate payroll reports to HR, Accounting / Finance, and leadership teams; must be proficient in Excel for data manipulation and analysis.
Ensure SOX compliance and maintain comprehensive payroll documentation (electronic and paper).
Stay current on federal, state, and international payroll laws, ensuring full compliance.
Partner with managers to train and support payroll / timekeeping processes and address wage / hour issues.
Oversee payroll activities related to equity events and trading windows, including out-of-sequence payrolls.
Support onboarding documentation and coordinate employee onboarding sessions with Recruiting.
Understand quarterly / annual tax filings and associated internal reporting.
Benefits & Compensation :
Lead administration of employee benefits programs, including health, wellness, retirement, and ancillary plans.
Manage benefits enrollment, renewal, and termination processes, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
Partner with leadership to evaluate benefit offerings and recommend enhancements based on data and benchmarking.
Communicate plan changes, conduct employee meetings, and facilitate enrollment.
Guide employees and managers on benefit plans, leaves of absence, and 401(k) participation.
Collaborate with the third-party Leave Administrator to ensure accurate leave tracking and payments.
Support compensation-related initiatives, including variable pay analysis and compliance.
Monitor regulatory changes and ensure ongoing compliance with all benefit and compensation-related laws.
Compliance & Confidentiality :
Maintain compliance with SOX, federal, state, and international payroll / benefits regulations.
Participate in audits and ensure documentation is complete and accurate.
Handle all employee and company information with the highest level of confidentiality.
Qualifications :
Bachelor's degree in HR, Accounting, or related field.
5+ years of payroll and benefits experience
Knowledge of ADP Workforce Now
Demonstrated ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
Exceptional attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to partner across departments.
