About the Role
The Company is seeking a Vice President of Marketing and Communications to lead and manage the organization's communications and marketing department. This executive-level position is responsible for supervising a high-performing team, overseeing departmental operations and budget, and ensuring all communications strategies advance the company's mission and strategic goals. The successful candidate will define the overall communications and marketing vision, serve as the primary guardian of the brand, and work closely with the executive team to integrate communications priorities into organizational strategy. Key responsibilities include strategic leadership, brand management, team leadership, and oversight of public relations, government relations, and external affairs.
Candidates for the VP of Marketing and Communications role at the company should have a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, with a master’s degree preferred, and 8-10 years of senior leadership experience. Nonprofit experience is strongly preferred. The role requires a proven track record in managing and developing teams, setting departmental goals, and leading performance management processes. The ideal candidate will have exceptional written, verbal, and presentation skills, advanced knowledge of digital marketing, and a strong background in video production and storytelling. Proficiency in tools such as Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, and CRM platforms is also necessary. The VP will be expected to build and maintain strong relationships with media, policymakers, and stakeholders, and to ensure that all communications strategies support fundraising, donor relations, and advocacy efforts.
