Job Description
AECOM has a position available for a Construction Engineer to join our Transportation Construction Business Line supporting large multi-year projects as part of the Transportation construction management team. The projects include transit infrastructure improvements throughout the NY Metro Region and in NJ. The responsibilities for the position include, but may not be limited to, the following :
- Under direct supervision, performs routine duties requiring knowledge of basic engineering principles
- Limited exercise of judgment is required on details of work
- Performs specific and limited portions of broader assignments
- Spends large percentage of time performing estimating take-offs and performing walk-downs for quantity tracking purposes, reporting of installed quantities, performing field inspections to verify adherence to design
- Required to work in the field at an off-site field office
- Required to take additional client-oriented field and safety training
- Assists in the preparation and review of construction drawings, specifications, and other technical documents
- Participates in site surveys and investigations to gather data for project planning and design
- Collaborates with project managers and senior engineers to develop construction schedules and budgets
- Monitors construction progress and prepares daily / weekly reports on project status
- Assists in the coordination of subcontractors and vendors to ensure timely delivery of materials and services
- Participates in quality control inspections and ensures compliance with project specifications and safety standards
- Helps in the resolution of field problems and coordinates with design teams for necessary changes
- Utilizes computer-aided design (CAD) software and other relevant technologies for project documentation and analysis
- Attends project meetings and contributes to discussions on technical issues and project progress
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements :
Bachelor's degree in Engineering or demonstrated equivalency of experience and / or educationDue to the projects associated with the position, a US Citizenship is requiredPreferred Qualifications :
Transit and Transportation ExperienceExcellent written communications and presentation abilities in internal project settingsSoftware proficiency in Procore, SharePoint, MS ProjectAdditional Information
