Real Estate Accountant

Location : Twin Cities, MN (Hybrid)

Compensation : $55K-$80K

About the Role

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Real Estate Accountant to join a growing property accounting team in the Twin Cities. This role will manage accounting for a portfolio of properties, prepare financial statements and budgets, and work directly with property managers, tenants, and vendors. The ideal candidate is organized, independent, and comfortable handling multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Prepare timely and accurate monthly financial statements and reports for assigned properties
• Perform full-cycle accounting including journal entries, AP / AR, and balance sheet reconciliations
• Support annual audits, including preparation of audit packages and coordination with auditors
• Maintain tenant and vendor records, process invoices, and apply payments accurately
• Prepare and monitor budgets, CAM reconciliations, and other property-specific reconciliations
• Ensure compliance with sales / use tax filings, 1099 reporting, and other regulatory requirements
• Identify process improvements and contribute to departmental initiatives
