Head of Risk – Derivative Trading Company

Overview

A growing and ambitious derivative market making firm in Chicago is currently looking to hire a Head of Risk, an experienced candidate to take ownership of their Risk function. This is a varied role that will incorporate firmwide market, systems and regulatory risk. There is a small team in place already and this role would involve coming in to oversee this group and manage its future growth.

The firm is a sophisticated derivative market making firm that prides itself on its commitment to innovation and cutting edge technology. They have grown significantly over recent years in terms of headcount as well as markets and products covered. With this growth has come the need to develop their Risk team and find the right candidate to spearhead this effort. This individual will be working closely with the firms technologists and traders to build and enhance their automated Risk framework.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Risk function including market, systems and regulatory risk for the firm
• Oversee the existing Risk team and manage its growth
• Collaborate with technologists and traders to build and enhance the automated Risk framework
• Ensure risk processes align with the firm's trading in derivatives, including options
