Job Title : Private Superintendent
Start Date : Immediately
Salary Range : $32.00-$40.00 / hourly DOE
Position Overview : The Superintendent oversees roofing construction activities such as project planning, scheduling, and budgeting while improving the accountability and efficiency. The Superintendent is responsible for the overall outcome of projects.
Essential Functions :
Provides leadership and daily communication with crew members for construction, quality, and safety operations including subcontractorsPerform inspections of jobs while providing accountability, visiting jobs sites dailyAttend pre-construction meeting / pre-job walkthrough with Project Manager and / or ForemanSet up job site properly to maintain OSHA safety standards and ensure worker safety and complianceReport safety concerns or issues, stopping work if needed until safety issues are properly resolvedMotivate crews to perform at their highest levelSchedule materials, equipment, and deliveries, using inventoried materials as much as possibleAssist with personnel planning and assignment of crew members to foreman and jobsProactively problem solve to avoid work impacts and reduce inefficienciesProactively plan all material, equipment, and subcontractor schedules to avoid impacts / delaysTrack and communicate project completion percentage to accounting for monthly billingWork closely with Quality Control, Safety Management, Inspectors, and ManufacturersConduct / participate in weekly project meetings for scheduling, discussions, and issue resolutionSubmit weekly reports with progress, impacts, quality, safety, and other pertinent dataMaintain thorough records and photos of construction progress and issuesMaintain schedule to ensure customer satisfactionComplete projects on time and in the most cost-efficient way (under budget desirable)Report potential change orders to estimator immediatelyPerform final quality inspection walk-through prior to crew demobilizationAccurately review and approve final hours on all managed jobsManage multiple projects simultaneouslySupervisory Responsibilities :
Supervision of crews while on the job including training, accountability, etc. Communication with Operations Manager for personnel management.Required Skills and Abilities :
Extensive knowledge & experience with systems such as TPO, EPMD, Taper, PVC, shingles, WV, FAOSHA 30 certificationMaintain valid drivers license (MO-Class E or equivalent) and hold valid Medcard (DOT Certification)EM385-1-1, 24HR Fall Protection TrainingCertification for rigging, signaling, and operating equipmentAbility to lead projects, manage resources, and build teamsAbility to read and understand architectural plans, shop drawings and specificationsDetail orientedAbility to take accountability for the outcome of the project and decision makingMake quick, accurate decisionsPeople-oriented - enjoys working on group projects, coaching, and mentoring othersFlexible - enjoys doing work that requires frequent shifts in directionHigh stress tolerance thrives in a high-pressure environmentTime Management great time management; able to prioritize and meet deadlinesExcellent written and verbal communication skillsEmbody and model company values of Family Culture, JR Attitude (humility, teachable), Extreme Ownership, Grow or Die (growth mindset, motivated, innovative)Always represent the company in a positive mannerDemonstrate respect to customers, supervisors, and team members, communicating all concerns in a professional manner and always adhere to standards of conduct and company policiesEducation and Experience :
High School Diploma and GED5-10 years in construction and roofing related industries2 years of team management experienceWork Environment / Physical Requirements :
Pass initial drug test and participate in random drug test programPrimarily outdoor office environment (approximately 20% office)Some outdoor environments in all types of weather (approximately 70% fieldwork)Ability to perform elevated work (work on rooftops, heights)Frequently lift and carry 50lbs or greaterFrequent bending, kneeling, walkingOvertime and weekend workWork Location : In person
