The Engineering Manager
The Engineering Manager is a Full Time, Regular position working Monday-Friday. Ideal candidate will work hybrid at our headquarters downtown Spokane, WA.
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to lead core engineering team, driving technical excellence while fostering collaborative development culture. The ideal candidate will bridge business requirements and technical implementation, ensuring efficient product delivery at scale.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor, and develop 10-15 software engineers across frontend, backend, and infrastructure.
- Conduct 1 : 1s, performance reviews, and career development planning
- Translate business requirements into detailed technical specifications
- Provide architectural oversight and ensure code quality through reviews and CI / CD practices
- Drive adoption of engineering best practices and development methodologies
Development Process & Project Management
Own and optimize the software development lifecycle (SDLC)Prioritize and allocate engineering resources across multiple concurrent projectsTrack team velocity, delivery metrics, and project timelinesIdentify and resolve blockers, ensuring on-time delivery while maintaining quality standardsFacilitate cross-functional collaboration with Product, Design, and QA teamsRequired Qualifications
7+ years software engineering experience with 3+ years engineering managementProven track record managing teams of 10+ engineers in scaling organizationsStrong people management, mentoring, and communication abilitiesExperience with Agile methodologies and performance managementTechnical Skills
Familiarity with :
Backend : Node.js, Nest.JS framework, RESTful APIs, microservices architectureDatabase : PostgreSQL experience including optimization and schema designFrontend : React, modern JavaScript / TypeScript, frontend build toolsPython : Working knowledge for scripting, data processing, or backend servicesDevOps : CI / CD pipelines, containerization (Docker), cloud platforms (AWS / GCP / Azure)Version Control : Expert-level Git knowledge and branching strategiesPreferred Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related fieldExperience in healthcare technology, digital pathology, or regulated industriesKnowledge of DICOM standards, HL7, or medical imaging systemsMachine learning / AI integration experience in production systemsCloud-native architecture with containerization and infrastructure as codeSecurity best practices and compliance knowledge (HIPAA, SOC2)What We Offer
