Title : Project Manager – Optical LAN Deployment & Outdoor Camera Systems
Location : Hybrid Remote / On-Site at Active Construction Sites

Overview
Tellabs is seeking an experienced On-Site Project Manager to oversee the successful implementation of Optical LAN deployments and outdoor camera system installations. This role will coordinate all aspects of field activity, including subcontractor oversight, trenching and fiber installation, heavy equipment use, testing, and system integration on active construction sites. The Project Manager will serve as the primary liaison between Tellabs, subcontractors, and customers to ensure projects are delivered safely, on schedule, and within budget.
Key Responsibilities
- Project Coordination : Lead daily on-site project activities for Optical LAN deployments and outdoor surveillance system installations.
- Subcontractor Oversight : Manage subcontractors performing trenching, conduit installation, heavy equipment operation, fiber splicing, testing, and camera mounting / calibration.
- Scheduling & Logistics : Develop and maintain project schedules, coordinate equipment deliveries, and sequence work to minimize delays and disruption to construction activities.
- Safety & Compliance : Ensure all work adheres to OSHA standards, site-specific safety rules, and Tellabs quality standards.
- Technical Supervision : Oversee installation of fiber optic infrastructure, including trenching, conduit placement, cable pulls, splicing, and OTDR testing.
- Quality Control : Verify test results, perform site inspections, and ensure adherence to project specifications, drawings, and customer requirements.
- Stakeholder Communication : Act as the primary on-site contact for general contractors, construction managers, engineers, subcontractors, and customers.
- Documentation : Maintain daily logs, prepare status updates, track as-built changes, and ensure timely submission of reports and test results.
- Problem Resolution : Anticipate and resolve conflicts, technical issues, and scheduling challenges that arise during field execution.
- Project Sign Off : Receives and checks final service delivery documents and gains customer sign-off for release to billing.
Qualifications
Experience :5+ years of project management experience in construction, telecommunications, or electrical contracting.
Demonstrated experience managing subcontractors on active construction sites.Prior experience with fiber optic cable installation, splicing, and testing preferred.Experience with surveillance systems, camera installations, or low-voltage systems a plus.Preferred Skills :Strong understanding of trenching, conduit, and heavy equipment coordination.
Working knowledge of fiber certification processes, and optical LAN deployment best practices.Excellent communication, leadership, and conflict-resolution skills.Proficient in project scheduling tools (MS Project, Primavera, or equivalent).Certifications (Preferred) :PMP, CAPM, or equivalent project management certification.
OSHA 30-hour or higher construction safety training.Fiber optic certifications (FOA CFOT, BICSI, etc.).Working Conditions
