job_description.job_card.job_descriptionPrepare molds and cores using hand tools and automated equipment. Operate furnaces, pour molten metal into molds, and monitor temperatures and material flow. Remove castings from molds and perform cleaning operations such as grinding, shot blasting, or chipping. Inspect castings for quality defects and perform basic measurements using gauges or visual inspection. Maintain cleanliness and organization in the work area in compliance with 5S and safety standards. Follow all safety procedures including use of personal protective equipment (PPE). Work collaboratively with team members and supervisors to meet daily production goals. Participate in continuous improvement initiatives as assigned. Exposure to high temperatures, dust, fumes, noise, and vibrations. Physical labor including lifting (up to 75 lbs.), standing, bending, and working in confined or elevated areas. Use of respirators, face shields, gloves, steel toed work boots with metatarsal guards and other PPE as required. Shift work, including nights, weekends, and overtime as necessary. High school diploma or GED preferred. Previous foundry or industrial experience is a plus. Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions. Strong commitment to safety, teamwork, and reliability. Must be eligible for and maintain USW union membership. This position is represented by the United Steelworkers (USW) union. - General Foundry Worker Department : Operations / Manufacturing Pay : $20.77-$24.58 Shift : 1st shift- 4 : 00AM -2 : 30PM Monday-Friday (OT when required) Position Summary : The Iron Foundry Worker performs various tasks involved in the production of iron castings.
- This includes preparation, melting, molding, core-making, pouring, cooling, and finishing operations.
- Work is performed in a heavy industrial environment with adherence to strict safety, quality, and productivity standards as defined in the collective bargaining agreement with the United Steelworkers (USW).
