Immediately hiring Shop General Labor Workers for a large metal manufacturing / distribution plant on the northeast side of SA. Pay is $18 / hr.

1st shift 5 : 30am, Mon-Fri (8-10 hr. shifts)

2nd shift 1 : 45pm, Mon-Fri (8-10 hr. shifts)

Shop General Labor Worker duties :

  • Assist machine operators with changeovers and setup, ensuring smooth transitions between production runs.
  • Prepares material and line in accordance with specifications.
  • Verify, weigh, bind, and tag metal.
  • Discharge material from the line and place it on the corresponding skid.
  • Ensures all products meet customer specifications.
  • Thread the line, verify material dimensions, and adjust speed and tension to produce a quality product.
  • Operate mobile production equipment and performing basic maintenance tasks.
  • Operate overhead crane to move material throughout shop.

Requirements :

  • Previous manufacturing and machine operating experience.
  • Ability to use measuring tape.
  • Must be able to follow instructions and schematics.
  • Machine / production experience required.
  • Prior metals experience preferred.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and take direction.
  • Repetitive movement while operating machines, standing the entire shift, bending, stooping.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
