Conducts safety for new hiresAdministers testing and re-certification for forkliftConducts 30,60,90 day interviews with new hiresGive Plant Tours when neededSafety walkthroughs in each DepartmentTranslate documents in SpanishWill Spend the majority of their time in the Plant MillAssist in leading efforts to develop and maintain a safety culture to improve the safety and health of all employeesHelp define processes to ensure continuous improvement in our safety performanceDevelop the safety skill set of management and safety committee leaders in order to execute Division and Region safety initiativesWork with other safety leaders and professionals to develop and share best practicesDevelop and communicate division and region safety policyProvide advice on safety and employee protection, and performs audits to ensure that organization and government standards are metActively works to implement business improvements to reduce workplace accidents and illnessesMaintain comprehensive knowledge of federal and state safety laws and regulationsAssist management team in complying with Division and Region safety performance measuresPrepare appropriate reports and communicates safety resultsDevelop and provides safety training to all employee levels in the organizationProvide oversight of the incident investigation processMaintain safety & incident records required by employer as well as state & federal governmentsAnalyze incident data to identify prevention programs to positively impact incident trendsEstablish and maintain a good working relationship with region and plant management, safety professionals, supervisors and employeesDemonstrate strong commitment to safety, quality, environmental awareness, and continuous process improvementPerform other duties and responsibilities as assignedQualifications
