: Job Summary
The position will set capacity targets based on staffing, anticipated boarders, and projected bed needs. The Coordinator collects clinical information relative to a transfer request and facilitates the transfer by matching the patient’s clinical needs to the facility with bed capacity and service capability. The position works in collaboration with multiple departments within each hospital to foster relationships with referring facilities, physicians, and hospital staff. The position works closely with each facility to identify, trend, and report barriers to patient throughput.
Job Requirements
◦ Required : Graduate of an accredited school of Respiratory Therapy
Preferred : Bachelor’s Degree in Respiratory Therapy
◦ Preferred : Five years of critical care experience as a Respiratory Therapist
◦ Excellent interpersonal communication and multitasking
◦ Excellent problem-solving abilities and critical thinking
◦ Proficient computer skills with Microsoft Office, especially Excel
◦ Ability to efficiently use the electronic medical record
◦ Ability to work with multiple people while meeting numerous requests and deadlines.
◦ Goal oriented with initiative and potentials for self-development. Maintains organizational and priority setting skills.
◦ Delegates appropriately to other team members
◦ Excellent customer service skills and ability to work with the public and co-workers
◦ Ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment
◦ Excellent telephone skills
▪ Required : Respiratory Care Practitioner License active in the state of Missouri
▪ Required : BLS must be obtained within 90 days
▪ Required : Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential from the National Board of Respiratory Care
▪ Preferred : RRT-ACCS (Adult Critical Care Specialist) credential from the National Board of Respiratory CareEducation : ▪ Required : Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Program ▪ Preferred : Bachelor's Degree in a related field
Experience : ▪ No prior experience required
Skills : ▪ Provides care as appropriate to age of population served. ▪ Proficient in safely providing all routine and emergent respiratory modalities. ▪ Able to assess patients and provide patient care per protocol. ▪ Provide accurate and appropriate electronic documentation. ▪ Provide accurate and appropriate education to patients, students and new staff. ▪ Possesses assessment and critical thinking skills ▪ Possesses in depth knowledge of anatomy and physiology ▪ Adheres to infection prevention practices and facility safety policies and procedures.
Licensure / Certification / Registration : ▪ Missouri State License for Respiratory ▪ RRT credential from the NBRC
