- Classroom experience with young children
- A bachelor's degree in early childhood education or related field.
- Knowledge about the philosophies of the Reggio Emilia approach to early learning.
- Extensive knowledge of birth-5 early child development.

Duties
RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Supervision and Care of Children
Ensure children are supervised at all times within the proper ratios for the age groupEnsure care routines (diapering / toileting, feeding / meals, sleeping / naps, etc.) are carried out in a timely and nurturing mannerComfort children when they are upset and develop trusting relationships with childrenEstablish predictable daily routines and provide reinforcement to create a positive classroom environmentMake sure that the classroom environment is well maintained to ensure the safety of the childrenClearly and effectively communicate in a manner that is developmentally appropriate for the age group of the childrenObserve children and make notes of developmental milestonesIntegrate children with special needs a positive, inclusive and respectful mannerBe familiar with emergency procedures2. Curriculum and Pedagogy
Plan and implement curriculum to meet the physical, emotional, intellectual and social needs of the children in the programProvide nutritious snacks and lunchesProvide adequate equipment and activitiesEnsure equipment and the facility are clean, well maintained and safe at all timesProvide weekly and monthly classroom plans and projectionsDevelop appropriate programs and activitiesEstablish policies and procedures including acceptable disciplinary policiesBe familiar with emergency procedures3. Communicate with parents and members of the community
Main Responsibilities
Discuss children’s development with parentsDiscuss identified problems and needs with professionals as appropriateParticipate in community activitiesPromote literacy and early education4. Maintain program administration

Keep parents informed of program expectations, program activities and their child’s progressDevelop and maintain current, accurate and confidential client filesDevelop daily activity plans5. Perform other related duties as required

Equivalencies will be considered.
Requirements
Minimum credential is a CDA. Higher credentials and experience are preferred.
Minimum of 2 years experience working with young children infant - 4-year-old.
