Description : The Estimator is responsible for preparing accurate, competitive cost estimates for all incoming projects. This role ensures that each quote accurately reflects the scope, materials, labor, and production requirements needed to deliver quality work on time and within budget. In addition to estimating, the Estimator maintains professional communication with customers — working with them to define project requirements, clarify expectations, and follow up after quoting or project completion. This includes checking in with customers after major projects, reconnecting with clients we haven’t heard from recently, and ensuring our quotes and finished work continue to meet or exceed expectations. This position combines analytical precision with clear communication and customer focus, supporting both operational excellence and lasting client relationships. Key Responsibilities Prepare detailed cost estimates based on drawings, specifications, and customer requirements. Analyze materials, labor, and subcontractor costs to ensure accuracy and profitability. Must be able to accurately estimate CNC machine setup and run times. Collaborate with production to confirm feasibility, lead times, and process requirements. Communicate with customers to clarify project details and expectations before quoting. Deliver professional quotes and follow up to determine quote outcomes and gather feedback. Reconnect with customers periodically — especially after large projects or long gaps in contact — to confirm satisfaction and maintain strong relationships. Track and analyze quote results to refine pricing and improve future estimating accuracy. ________________________________________ Qualifications 3+ years of estimating experience in fabrication, manufacturing, or a related industry. Strong understanding of materials, production methods, and cost structures. Proficiency in estimating or ERP software and Microsoft Excel. Excellent analytical and communication skills with high attention to detail.
