Special Education Teacher (SPED) Job Duties
Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) to meet each students unique needs
Provide specialized instruction and interventions for students with disabilities
Collaborate with general education teachers, administrators, and related service providers
Adapt curriculum and instructional materials to support diverse learners
Track and document student progress toward IEP goals
Ensure compliance with district, state, and federal special education regulations
Federal and State Requirements
Bachelors or Masters degree in Special Education or related field
Current Missouri teaching certification in Special Education required
Knowledge of IDEA, Section 504, FERPA, and other applicable education laws
Excellent communication, collaboration, and classroom management skills
Fingerprinting and background clearance as required by Missouri school districts
