Title : Event Planner
Purpose of Position : Freedom Alliance events advance the organization's mission, achieve programmatic goals, and enhance supporters’ knowledge of, and affinity for, the organization. With that in mind, the Event Planner will produce and execute dynamic events – live and virtual – which achieve the mission, generate revenue, strengthen donor engagement, create lasting memories, and instill a sense of philanthropic joy. Events include small receptions, large galas, conferences, luncheons, golf tournaments, 5k runs, cruises, domestic or international travel, online events and others.
Key Responsibilities : The Event Planner position requires a person who is organized, detail oriented, and motivated to produce outstanding experiences. This right person will be committed to, and passionate about, the mission of Freedom Alliance. The Event Planner will have a range of responsibilities to include planning, marketing, and execution of events. Specific duties consist of selecting vendors and venues, negotiating contracts, securing catering, audio / visual, and travel, and managing event registration, sponsorships, and marketing.
Qualifications : Candidates will have 3-4 years of experience in events management, and a record of success in producing profitable, high-quality experiences. The Event Planner will have excellent interpersonal skills, be committed to customer service, and have experience managing VIPs and event talent.
A positive demeanor, commitment to excellence, and collaborative spirit are essential. Candidate must have strong communication skills – written and verbal; requisite computer proficiencies; and the ability to travel. The candidate will have strong planning and negotiating skills and be able to prioritize activities to meet deadlines. The person for this position will be proficient with Microsoft Office and Salesforce. The individual hired will be part of Freedom Alliance’s development team, leveraging resources and building strong relationships with staff, vendors, partners, and volunteers.
