Ambulatory Template Manager
The Ambulatory Template Manager collaborates with department / medical group and division leadership, staff and providers, ambulatory leadership, Centralized Access Center leadership, Digital Health, and IM to proactively identify and provide guidance and best practice solutions for template management with the goal of improving patient access and supporting adherence to ambulatory template standards. This role ensures patient-centric access to ambulatory services is delivered smoothly, efficiently, and timely, while supporting a positive patient, staff, and provider experience. Creates and maintains a goal-oriented climate of cross-team collaboration for effective problem-solving, conflict resolution, support for organizational values and standard work.
Essential Job Functions :
- Direct division leadership and template managers teams to develop, enhance and maintain ambulatory scheduling templates according to institutional guidelines and standards as set by the multi-disciplinary ambulatory leadership team.
- Produce and run training and education offered centrally to all scheduling teams, offers specific guidance and support to division leadership and scheduling teams to optimize scheduling and decision trees for their respective clinics.
- Works collaboratively with department / medical group and division leadership, ambulatory leadership, Centralized Access Center, and IM to ensure effective template design.
- Conducts periodic specialty-wide template reviews with department / medical group leaders to support efforts to minimize barriers to access and meet patient demand.
- Accountable for the monitoring and management of template health dashboards including report out to medical group and hospital leadership.
- Provides leadership and coordination of integration support team(s) to proactively understand and mitigate downstream impacts on scheduling template and patient access-related changes.
- Advises medical group / department and ambulatory leadership to best practices and recommends solutions to drive alignment between technical and operational efficiency.
- Monitors applicable industry trends, novel, and emerging solutions to drive continuous improvement opportunities for template management and decision trees.
- Evaluates the impact of access-related initiatives on provider, staff, and patient / family experience and recommends enhancements as appropriate.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities :
Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred or 4 Years of experience and specific experience and training in ambulatory template management accepted in lieu of a degree.Minimum of five years of progressively responsible experience in an academic medical center or hospital, with experience in ambulatory clinical operations, physician practice management, or digital health preferred.Highly motivated self-starter who can motivate others. Advanced leadership skills, with the ability to create and maintain a goal-oriented climate of cross-team collaboration for effective problem solving, conflict resolution, support for organizational values and standard work.Comprehensive knowledge of patient access workflows as well as advanced technical knowledge and skills in Epic template management, including the ability to incorporate national best practices in complex and / or unprecedented situations across multiple functional areas.Experience implementing strategic plans and facilitating workflow improvements. Ability to translate strategy into operational processes and workflows.Thorough knowledge of patient access-related data and metrics and the ability to leverage analytics and synthesize data to inform recommendations.Demonstrates sound, responsive decision-making and problem-solving skills. Ability to address problems which are highly varied, complex, requiring gathering input from multiple sources to find innovative and creative solutions.Displays excellent oral and written interpersonal communication skills to convey complex information clearly and concisely to all levels of staff and management. Includes strong presentation skills to effectively target communications to the audience, whether it is patient / family, staff, provider, or leadership levels.Pay Range : $83,200.00-$137,280.00
