R&D TECHNICIAN 4

Ultimate Staffing is hiring Technician level 4s. (10 years of experience needed.

In response to the fast-growing need for data, we are growing rapidly and as a result we are hiring a new team of technicians to perform the mechanical assembly of fixtures and to operate test equipment to record their performance.

The Role :

This role is to help our customer achieve success by supporting production and the characterization of materials used in batteries. The position involves preparing samples and testing of fixtured cells : reviewing the sample queue, scheduling of work for the shift, taking samples and other components and assembling them before starting them on their test protocol. Operating mechanical and electrical test equipment (compression tool / cell cycler) is also required to characterize fixtured cells and ensure quality.

Continuous improvement activities in safety, delivery and quality are also expected.

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements :

• A minimum of a high school diploma and 10 years of relevant experience.
• Experience in mechanical assembly or electrical testing required.
• Experience in designing experiments and writing procedures.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities :

o Able to carefully assemble mechanical parts and perform electrical tests.

o Excellent familiarity with computer operation with the ability to determine work flows from our internal information systems.

o The ability to accurately follow procedures, requires little supervision on daily tasks and general instruction on newly introduced assignments.

o Strong collaboration and teamwork, including clear and open communication; to ensure issues with samples are quickly addressed.

o Good organizational skills and you have careful attention to the smallest of details, requiring judgement in resolving issues and quality control.

o Can consistently deliver quality work while doing moderately difficult tasks.

o An ability to work as part of a small team and to communicate the status of your work to your peers across shifts to ensure effective collaboration across shifts.

Any of the following are a plus :

o Experience in performing tool calibrations or quality control testing, such as in a manufacturing environment or laboratory setting.

o Experience in working with cells and batteries
