Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

A public K-12 school in Detroit, MI is seeking a qualified Special Education Teacher for the upcoming 20252026 school year. This full-time, onsite position focuses on high school students and provides an excellent opportunity to make a meaningful impact in a supportive academic environment. The role is a contract position for the duration of the school year.

Responsibilities include :

• Delivering specialized instruction tailored to students individual education plans (IEPs).
• Managing a caseload of approximately 13-14 high school students with diverse learning needs.
• Collaborating closely with general education teachers, support staff, and families to facilitate student progress.
• Monitoring and documenting student growth through assessments and maintaining accurate records.
• Creating and implementing lesson plans that meet state and district standards while accommodating individual learning differences.
