Salary :

Summary of Duties Fabrication Technician Ill is experienced in Fabrication processes to include, but not limited to,the safe use of common hand tools, advanced understanding of measuring devices, and can read / interpret / conveyblueprints. Execute tasks assigned by the Fabrication Shop Supervisor with little or no direct supervision and inaccordance with company work instructions. Frequently required to lift / move equipment up to and including 50pounds. Additional duties and / or responsibilities of other positions may also be assigned for which qualifications aremet. Working knowledge of, but not limited to, NAVSEA specifications and Maritime Industry Standards.

Specific Description of Duties -

Responsible for transporting material / tools within Fabrication Shop; standing fire watch; painting; blasting; proficient

safe operation of machines for cutting, burning, bending, rolling, shaping; and assisting in metal preparation / fit up for

welding.

o Must have advanced working knowledge with basic fabrication equipment to include but not limited to :

o Vertical Saw

o Horizontal Saw

o Iron Worker

o Manual Press Brake

o Hydraulic Press Brake

o Blasting Cabinet

o Forklift

o Pneumatic and Electric hand tools

o Drill press

o Overhead crane

o Oxy fuel torch

o Overtime is routinely required but not guaranteed

o Perform any other assignments or tasks as needed or requested by management to assist in accomplishing the

organization's mission, objectives and goals.

Certifications, Qualifications, Education Requirements -

HS diploma or GED may be required depending on varying contract stipulations.

Associates degree or trade school certificate preferred, but not required (in related field)

Must have 5+ years of related experience.

Must have 5+ years of fabrication shop experience.

Demonstrated ability to work independently and solve issues with little or no guidance.

Certification / Licenses (as required for the task being performed) -

Fire watch certification

Forklift License preferred

Security Clearance -

Clearance up to secret level may be required.

Must be a U.S. citizen

Physical / Environmental Job Requirements -

Physical requirements include the following :

Lifting / moving up to and including 50 pounds

Standing for long periods of time

In performing these duties, you may be required to work outdoors. You will experiencevariations, extremely loud noises, and other physical hazards.
