Position Title : Construction Superintendent - East Texas
Reports to : Product Manager
Based in : Houston, TX

Position Summary
The Construction Superintendent (CS) will provide leadership for all construction activities and the related logistics, staffing, purchasing, etc. This position will provide expertise in incorporating the ICF blocks into construction methods and compliance with Codes. Will collaborate with Product Manager on matters of design and engineering. The CS is responsible for cost estimates and cost management and tracking on all projects. The CS will coordinate and support subcontractors.
Essential Functions
Turnkey Construction Management. Lead and manage building construction work. Provide onsite leadership for building the structures for our customers according to drawings and construction standards. Ensure quality workmanship. The CS will be the primary point of contact with the customer during the construction. Provide Work Plans. Provide weekly status reports on each project and certificates of completion at the end of each project.
Logistics. Coordinate all logistics pertaining to construction including getting equipment, blocks or block-making, materials for jobsite, etc..
Strategic Initiatives. Provide feedback and advice for innovative adjacent technologies and methods improvements. Continuous improvement in our construction process and package. Continuous improvement in our cost position and value proposition. Will provide oversight for expansion beyond Houston and supporting Customers with a regional footprint.
Methods, Design and Engineering. Responsible for the technical incorporation of ICF blocks into US construction. In collaboration with Product Manager, ensure proper certification for our products and compliance with all Codes, standards, agencies and permits. Responsible for developing and creating the technical specifications for our products. Responsible for the Onsite ICF Construction Guide and training methods for building with ICF blocks. Ensure the blocks are used most effectively and to their greatest advantage.
Project Design, Costs and Estimates. Review and validate customer drawings. Work with estimators in developing accurate cost estimates for each project. Liaison between Sales and Construction.
Construction Partners. Functioning as a General Contractor, this position will identify, certify and utilize subcontractors, site supervisors and in coordination with Sales - licensed builders, in the execution of the overall workload. A network of Licensed Builders may be developed in coordination with Sales and managed by the Product Manager.
Customer Experience. Responsible for quality of workmanship, timeliness of start and completion and adherence to schedule. Liaison with the Customer to ensure their satisfaction.
ICF Block Production. Will use and train others on the RIM system used to mold the blocks.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Construction skill, experience, education and technical aptitude sufficient to become expert in Onsite ICF technology and applications. Strong problem-solving skills and finding creative solutions.
Leadership. Ability to lead others, manage projects and achieve results. Alignment with Onsite ICF vision and values.
Engineering skill. Capable understanding of engineering concepts in construction, ability to work with Design and Engineering service providers.
Entrepreneurial mindset. Comfortable working in a start-up environment, that requires some degree of self-initiative and direction. Passion to achieve company success.
Construction and Affordable Housing. Understanding of the affordable housing sector, both rural and urban, in the United States.
Solid communication skills. Proficient English and local languages, computer skills, ability to write and to create documents. Ability to communicate effectively at all levels and audiences.
Qualifications and Requirements
Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
At least 5 years of experience in industry. Experience in the affordable housing sector and social enterprise is a plus.
Valid Driver’s License.
US Citizenship or Valid Work Permit.
Ability to travel. The Position is located within Houston so metropolitan Houston and within East Texas travel is required. In addition, there may be occasional international travel to locations abroad where Onsite ICF subsidiaries are operating.
Working Conditions / Physical Requirements :
The performance of this position may occasionally require exposure to the manufacturing areas where, under certain areas, the use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses, breathing apparatus and mandatory hearing protection are required. There is an occasional requirement for heavy lifting and moving heavy objects.
