Title : Controls Field Service Technician

Location : Rolling Meadows, IL 60008

Pay : $30–35 / hr

50–70% travel required

Responsibilities :

Troubleshoot and repair mechanical / electrical equipment at customer sites.

Access and modify PLC & HMI programs for debugging, retrofits, and upgrades.

Set up and maintain servos, VFDs, Ethernet / Profibus networks, remote I / O, and controls systems.

Interpret mechanical / electrical / pneumatic schematics and troubleshoot electrical panels.

Operate machinery to demonstrate functionality and analyze malfunctions.

Supervise and train customer operators / maintenance personnel.

Consult with customers and engineering on equipment layout, moves, and unusual system issues.

Provide service reports, follow-up calls, and monthly service activity summaries.

Participate in on-call rotation and provide leadership support when needed.

Ensure compliance with safety regulations and ISO standards while on-site.

Travel to domestic and international customer locations.

Qualifications :

Degree in an engineering-related field or equivalent experience.

3–6 years of hands-on mechanical / electrical troubleshooting experience.

Proficiency in Rockwell PLCs, HMIs, and servo controls preferred.

Experience in a multi-disciplined engineering environment with tight deadlines.

Ability to read / interpret schematics, manuals, and system guides.

Strong customer service and communication skills.

Proficient in Microsoft Office.

Knowledge of NEC, NFPA 79, and international electrical standards.
