Primary Duties and Responsibilities :

The Accessibility Assistant will play a crucial role in assisting students with disabilities, ensuring they have equal access to educational resources and can fully participate in classroom activities. This position involves collaborating with faculty and staff to implement effective accommodations and support strategies tailored to individual student needs. This role will also provide reading / scribing supports to students during timed assessments.

• Provide scheduled support services in the classroom and various other settings to students with accommodations as assigned by the Manager, or Coordinator, at all campus locations.
• Help students utilize assistive technologies and adaptive equipment in a classroom, lab, or testing setting.
• Proctor, read, or scribe exams to individuals who have been approved for testing accommodations.
• Monitor student behavior to ensure safety and appropriate interactions.
• Report student progress to faculty and staff as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications :
• Education

High school diploma or equivalent.

Demonstrate familiarity and understanding of The ADA and Section 504.
