Key Responsibilities
Conducts quality assurance audits of inpatient and outpatient coding, providing actionable recommendations for improvement
Reviews medical records for coding accuracy and collaborates with clinical documentation integrity specialists
Creates audit reports and educates coding staff on findings and best practices
Required Qualifications
Completion of a coding certificate program
5 years of experience coding acute care hospital charts
Expert knowledge of coding guidelines, medical terminology, and disease pathophysiology
Certified Coding Specialist or equivalent certification preferred
Proficient in MS Office and familiar with database programs
