We are looking for a skilled Billing Clerk to join our team on a contract basis in Baltimore, Maryland. In this role, you will play a key part in ensuring accurate and timely billing processes while maintaining effective communication with clients and colleagues. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and a solid understanding of billing systems and practices.
Responsibilities :
- Prepare and compile monthly billing statements, ensuring accuracy and adherence to established procedures.
- Review and edit pre-bills in response to staff requests, implementing necessary adjustments.
- Apply funds and process write-offs in accordance with company policies.
- Generate complex bills in a timely and precise manner.
- Process charges such as employee personal expenses and service fees with accuracy.
- Coordinate prospective number assignments and assist with billing-related inquiries.
- Maintain organized hard-copy and electronic files, ensuring they are current and compliant with company policies.
- Collaborate with the accounting team to provide support during absences or high workload periods.
- Utilize software tools such as Microsoft Excel and Word to enhance billing and reporting processes.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in billing or accounting functions within a detail-oriented services environment.
- Proficiency in billing software and advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
- Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
- Ability to handle high volumes of billing tasks and maintain accuracy under pressure.
- Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to interact effectively and courteously.
- Solid understanding of billing practices and procedures, including write-offs and collections.
- Capacity to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage deadlines effectively.
