Sunlighten's Procurement Manager will be responsible for leading and overseeing the procurement function for both Sunlighten and Ice Barrel product lines, ensuring that goods and services are sourced cost-effectively, aligned with company strategy, and delivered on time to support operational and production needs. This position provides opportunities for growth in vendor relationship management, supply chain optimization, and cross-functional leadership.
The Procurement Manager will play a key role in cost control, risk mitigation, and continuous improvement within the procurement and supply chain process while mentoring procurement specialists and serving as the primary point of contact for supplier negotiations and strategic sourcing initiatives.
Duties / Responsibilities :
- Negotiate and manage vendor contracts with new and existing suppliers, ensuring favorable terms, compliance, and risk mitigation.
- Maintain all required supplier documentation, certifications, and agreements.
- Develop strong relationships with vendors to improve service levels, cost savings, and supply chain resilience.
- Lead supplier performance evaluations, corrective action plans, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Oversee updates in NetSuite (or ERP system) related to vendor information, purchase prices, and inventory status.
- Ensure accurate purchase order creation, review, and approvals.
- Maintain accurate records of open purchase orders, receipts, and vendor returns.
- Monitor and maintain optimal inventory levels in coordination with warehouse and production teams.
- Analyze supply and demand trends to set safety stock levels and reduce obsolete or excess inventory.
- Manage inventory classifications, including legacy parts, defective stock, warranty items, and returns.
- Collaborate with factories to determine disposition of legacy or defective parts (scrap, return, or credit).
- Partner with international buyers to secure inventory and materials from global suppliers.
- Coordinate procurement for international dealers, including spare and warranty parts fulfillment.
- Lead compliance with import / export regulations and oversee logistics coordination where applicable.
- Collaborate with Accounts Payable to resolve discrepancies between invoices, receipts, and purchase orders.
- Ensure alignment of procurement practices with company policies, SOX controls, and regulatory requirements.
- Manage cost analysis, supplier audits, and annual budget planning for procurement spend.
- Serve as the main point of contact for all warehouse procurement needs.
- Supervise, coach, and develop procurement staff to enhance efficiency and performance.
- Drive process improvements to streamline purchasing cycles, reduce lead times, and leverage technology.
- Identify and implement cost reduction initiatives while maintaining quality and service standards.
- Develop and monitor procurement KPIs, such as vendor performance, cost savings, and on-time delivery.
