Position Summary
The Kid's Coordinator is responsible for coordinating and facilitating youth programming that promotes engagement, personal growth, and educational support for children and teens. Thisincludes supervising regular youth activities, managing childcare and special events, serving as aliaison to schools and community partners, and maintaining accurate program records. The KidsCoordinator models strong organizational skills a passion for education, and a commitment to providing developmentally appropriate, trauma-informed, and relationship-based support thatfosters learning and positive youth development.
Job Duties
Coordinate Kids Programming & Events
- Schedule and oversee babysitters, childcare partners, and volunteers duringregular adult programming and events.
- Coordinate, supervise and host youth open hours on campus, including providingsnacks, scheduling volunteers, and informal engagement with youth.
- Create opportunities for informal learning and personal growth by incorporating
educational valuessuch as social-emotional learning, creativity, teamwork, andproblem-solvinginto everyday interactions, games, and group activities.
Plan and execute 23 annual youth-focused events that build community,encourage learning, and support youth development.Student Relationship & Vendor Management
Foster positive relationships with all resident children through consistent, trauma informedengagement that support their development and well-being.Serve as the main point of contact for third-party vendors deliveringprogramming, childcare or other child-related services.Coordinate logistics and communication to ensure a smooth experience for bothvendors and participating children.Community & School Engagement
Act as the organizations McKinney-Vento Representative, supporting schoolenrollment and liaison efforts for children experiencing homelessness or housinginstability.Build and maintain relationships with local public schools, aftercare programs andeducational support staff as primary point of contact for issues or concerns relatedto resident students.Collaborate with other nonprofits and churches to share youth-focused resourcesand opportunities such as summer camps, back to school drives, monthly birthdayparty celebrations, etc.Data Entry & Program Reporting
Maintain accurate records of youth participation, program attendance, andevent impact.Input key performance indicators (KPIs) and relevant notes into theorganizations case management system in a timely and organized manner.Analyze data and identify opportunities to improve efficiency and effectiveness and enhance the children and youth experience at The Gatehouse.Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
Bachelors degree in a relevant field such as Education, Social Work, Child Development,Nonprofit Management, or a related discipline; OR an equivalent combination ofeducation and at least 3 years of relevant experience in youth programming, education,or nonprofit coordination.Experience working with children or youth in a professional, volunteer, or educationalsetting.Strong interpersonal and communication skills, especially in working with families fromdiverse backgrounds.Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple schedules, events, and partnerrelationships.Basic computer proficiency and comfort with data entry or case management systemsWillingness to work evenings and flex hours based on event timing and youth availability.Preferred Experience : (1) Familiarity with the McKinney-Vento Act or school enrollmentprocesses for youth experiencing homelessness; (2) Prior experience coordinating youthprograms or events, particularly in nonprofit or community-based settings; and / or (3)Knowledge of local community kids-related resources and a passion for equitable youthdevelopment.
