Inventory & Purchasing Manager
Schedule : Full-Time | Monday-Friday | 7 : 30 AM - 4 : 30 PM
We are a fast-growing construction and service organization seeking a detail-oriented and strategic Inventory & Purchasing Supervisor to oversee purchasing operations and inventory control. This role is ideal for a proactive and analytical professional who thrives in a dynamic environment and is passionate about optimizing procurement processes to support growth and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
Manage sourcing, negotiation, and purchasing of materials, equipment, parts, and services.
Enhance the parts tracking system and build a comprehensive inventory system (binned, counted, tracked in software) with keyword and part-number searchability.
Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors and suppliers.
Monitor inventory levels to maintain optimal stock without overstocking.
Use inventory management systems to forecast and plan inventory needs.
Analyze procurement data to identify cost-saving opportunities and process improvements.
Prepare and present regular reports on procurement and inventory metrics to leadership.
Oversee warranty part returns to vendors and ensure efficient stocking and weekly tie-outs.
Develop and execute a weekly cycle count system.
Collaborate with internal teams to create an effective parts request and fulfillment process.
Ensure accurate reorder points and proper stocking levels.
Qualifications
5+ years of experience in procurement or inventory management.
Proficiency in ERP systems and inventory management software.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively across teams.
Certification in supply chain management (e.g., CPSM, APICS, CPIM) is a plus.
Experience in construction and automotive / truck part industries preferred.
Familiarity with lean inventory practices and just-in-time (JIT) methodology.
