Overview
The Lead Piping Superintendent is responsible for supervising and directing operations within the piping discipline. This includes overseeing piping craft, subordinate supervisors, and other personnel, ensuring construction performance meets specifications, schedules, and budgets. The role involves coordinating with management and other disciplines, managing Client, and ensuring safety and quality compliance.
Requirement / Must Have
- Bachelor's degree or international equivalent with 10–13 years of relevant experience, or 14–17 years of relevant work experience.
- Demonstrated ability to motivate and lead team members effectively in a collaborative environment.
- Strong problem-solving skills in high-pressure situations.
- Heavy industrial direct hire construction experience in a supervisory role.
- Experience in oil, gas, refinery, petrochemical, minerals processing, or power generation construction.
- Computer literacy in word processing, spreadsheets, and database applications.
- Working knowledge of applicable industry codes and standards.
- Experience developing pneumatic and hydrotest packages and verifying / witnessing tests.
- Understanding of standard work processes and project automation tools.
- Experience managing technical services subcontracts.
Experience
Supervisory experience in field construction activities related to piping, pipe supports, hangers, and welding operations.Coordinating with subcontractors, foremen, and management to determine Client and schedule work.Preparing material requisitions, reports, forecasts, and job Client projections.Ensuring compliance with safety codes, standards, and client requirements.Conducting field inspections and verifying installation against current revision documents.Responsibilities
Supervise and direct personnel in piping construction activities.Coordinate with Direct Hire / Subcontractor Piping Superintendents, General Supervisor, and Supervisor on Client and scheduling.Support preparation and management of schedules and quantity tracking.Prepare material requisitions for tools and consumables.Prepare reports, forecasts, and job expenditure projections.Implement corporate / project policies and procedures within assigned operations.Coordinate activities with other disciplines and client representatives.Conduct personnel evaluations of subordinate personnel.Ensure compliance with safety standards, codes, and project requirements.Interface with Piping Field Engineer and ensure use of current revision documents.Should Have
