About the Role
Hi-Speed Industrial Service is seeking an experienced Motor Shop Manager to lead operations at our Little Rock AR facility. This individual will oversee daily shop activities, manage a skilled team, ensure top-tier customer service, and drive operational excellence. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader with a strong mechanical aptitude, proven experience in rotating equipment or a similar industry, and the ability to inspire teams while balancing customer demands and business growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Leadership & Team Development
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of 5+ technicians and support staff.
- Conduct employee performance reviews and provide coaching for professional growth.
- Foster a positive, team-oriented environment focused on quality, safety, and customer success.
- Operations Management
- Oversee all aspects of shop operations, ensuring quality and efficiency.
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring jobs are completed on time and within scope.
- Review and approve customer quotations with accuracy and profitability in mind.
- Maintain compliance with industry standards (EASA AR100, IEEE, NEMA).
- Customer Engagement
- Serve as the primary point of contact for escalated customer issues.
- Demonstrate strong problem-solving skills to resolve challenges quickly.
- Build and maintain long-term customer relationships with professionalism and transparency.
- Business & Industry Involvement
- Representing Hi-Speed in local and national industry associations.
- Identify opportunities for growth and operational improvement.
- Contribute to branch revenue growth and efficiency through innovative ideas and continuous improvement.
Required Qualifications
Minimum 5 years' experience in rotating equipment, motor repair, or a similar industry.At least 2 years of leadership experience managing teams of 5+ employees.Proven ability to manage customer relationships and resolve complex service issues.Experience preparing and reviewing job quotations.Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.Mechanical aptitude with the ability to "think on your feet" in fast-moving environments.Track record of inspiring and motivating teams.Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in engineering, Business Management, or related field.Multi-branch management experience with shop revenues over $500K / month.Familiarity with both steel and paper industries.Knowledge of the EOS (Entrepreneurial Operating System) business management framework.Why Join Hi-Speed?
