Responsibilities :
Organizes and initiates review of admission applications.
Responds to all admission referrals within 15 minutes.
Checks Allscripts regularly.
Compiles all pertinent medical and psychosocial information on applicants for admission and communicates applications to the disciplines participation in the review process.
Interacts with referring facilities to obtain application information and to arrange admission to the facility where appropriate.
NCS – billing for Medicare / Medicaid, and reports for MDS.
HMO – Medicare / Medicaid : authorizations, clinicals, etc., copay authorizations
Medicare disenrollment
Medforce scans – notes for updating social security info, budgets, etc.
Medicaid applications – documentation
Work with finance department on all admissions
Responsible for maintaining the daily census and all related documentation.
Notifies all disciplines of the admission of residents.
Arranges and executes pre-admission interviews and facility tours.
Arranges appointments for financial screening with the applicant of the designated representative.
Arranges new admissions and readmissions to the facility, including notification of all concerned parties, initiates the medical record and meets with the applicant or designated representative to complete the Admissions Agreement, and all admitting papers.
Communicates facility policy on personal clothing and affects to the applicant, or designated representative. Arranges for private bedholds
Marketing and resident recruiting trips two (2) days a week or as needed.
May perform other duties as needed.
Working Conditions :
Works in office as well as throughout the facility. Sits, stands, bends, lifts and moves intermittently during work hours.
Is involved with residents other personnel agencies under all conditions and circumstances.
Is subjected to hostile and emotionally upset residents, family members, etc.
Is subject to departmental hazards related to equipment, odors, etc. throughout the work day.
May be exposed to infectious waste, diseases, conditions, etc. including the AIDS and Hepatitis B viruses.
Specific Requirements :
Must be able to read, write, speak and understand the English language. Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors and the general public.
Must have patience, tact, cheerful disposition and enthusiasm, as well as be willing to handle residents willing to handle residents based on whether maturity level at which they are currently functioning.
Must possess the ability to seek out new methods and be willing to incorporate them to existing practices.
Must be able to move intermittently throughout the work day. Must be able to speak and write the English language in an understandable manner.
Physical and Sensory Requirements :

Must be able to cope with the mental and emotional stress of the position.
Must possess sight / hearing senses or use prosthetics that will enable these senses to function adequately so that the requirements of this position can be fully met.
Must function independently and have flexibility, personal integrity and the ability to work effectively with residents, personnel and family.
Must be in good health and demonstrate emotional ability.
Must be able to relate to and work with ill, disabled elderly, emotionally upset and at times, hostile people within the facility.
Must be able to lift, push, pull and move a minimum of fifty (50) pounds.
Must be able to assist in the evacuation of residents.
