job_description.job_card.job_descriptionStrong oral and written communication skills. Strong understanding of programming and testing concepts for Web-based UI applications. Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with major coursework in computer science, computer information systems, engineering, or MIS is strongly preferred. Experience with the full software development life cycle (SDLC) and Agile methodologies, including knowledge of industry-accepted software engineering practices. Knowledge of computer systems, information technology equipment, applicable programming languages, hardware and software, and operating systems. Experience in analyzing requirements, user stories and acceptance criteria, and writing test plans and test scenarios to validate that the requirements are met within the application and / or business processes. Ability to analyze software applications, defects, and business problems to draw evidence-based conclusions and devise innovative solutions. Experience with HP UFT, Katalon, HP LoadRunner, SoapUI, LoadUI, Selenium, ALM, PPM, SQL, XML, and batch / interface file operations. Experience working with varied levels of development, testing staff, and end-users using Agile principles and methodologies. Hands-on QA experience (manual and / or automated) using UFT, SoapUI, Selenium, ALM, PPM, JIRA, JAMA, PLSQL.

Overview
Position will be 3 days remote with 2 days onsite (Mondays and Tuesdays) at the location listed above. Subject to change per manager. Program will only accept LOCAL ONLY candidates for this position.
Responsibilities
- QA automation engineers design automated tests by creating scripts that run testing functions automatically, determine priorities for test scenarios, and create execution plans to implement these scenarios. Design documentation for automated processes.
- Perform software quality assurance, testing, and support for TIERS, YourTexasBenefits.com, YourTexasBenefits Mobile App, State Portal, Workflow Management, Eligibility Web Services, Enterprise Document Services, Enterprise Content Management, Document Center, Call Center Inquiry, and other Social Services applications.
- Develop, enhance, maintain, and execute existing and new test plans and scenarios for QA of web-based J2EE / Portal applications within HHSC SOA platform using Agile methodologies.
- Participate in requirements analysis, test design, test data preparation, and testing of various components; work with other teams as necessary to accomplish goals.
- Create technical and design documentation as required and provide technical support for testing and implementation efforts.
- Participate in program design, coding and test walk-through meetings to provide input regarding technical standards and customer requirements.
- Other duties as assigned.
