• : 90-93 JOB NUMBER : 25-03509 JOB DESCRIPTION : Our client, a large defense contractor, has an immediate opening for a Senior Electrical Hardware Design Engineer to work from their Scottsdale, AZ facility. We are seeking a Senior Electrical Hardware Design Engineer to join our cross-disciplinary team responsible for designing advanced electronic hardware. You will play a pivotal role in developing new 3U VPX modules that enhance the capabilities and cyber-resilience of mission-critical systems. You will engage in all program phases, including requirements analysis, schematic capture, routing constraints definition, PCB / PWB routing oversight, and support for manufacturing, integration, testing, and qualification. We encourage you to apply if you have any of these preferred skills or experiences : experience designing PCBs / PWBs using Siemens Xpedition, knowledge of VITA / VPX standards including VITA 46 and 65, and use of lab test equipment including multimeters, oscilloscopes, and other test equipment. QUALIFICATIONS : EDUCATION REQUIREMENT : Requires a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, or a related Science, Engineering or Mathematics field. Also requires 8+ years of job-related experience, or a Master's degree plus 6 years of job-related experience. CLEARANCE REQUIREMENT : Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required. What sets you apart : An understanding of the hardware development process throughout the lifecycle of a program, including design for manufacturing and design for test. Knowledge of Siemens Xpedition for schematic entry, constraint definition, and signal integrity / power integrity analysis. Experience designing PCBs / PWBs, including using advanced materials, packaging techniques, and high-speed interfaces (10G+ Ethernet, PCIe Gen 4+, etc.). Experience using multimeters, oscilloscopes, and other lab test equipment. Problem-solving and critical thinking skills, breaking down complex technical problems logically and finding efficient solutions. Cross-disciplinary communication skills, working effectively with software, mechanical, and manufacturing teams. Team collaboration, offering and receiving feedback constructively, and mentoring junior engineers when needed.
