American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a night shift Emergency Department position requiring a current CA RN license and advanced certifications.
\n \n Responsibilities\n
Work in an acute care hospital Emergency Department setting with 24 beds and a separate fast track area12-hour night shifts with a requirement to work every other weekend; flexibility in shift start times is expectedPatient ratios range from 2 : 1 to 4 : 1 with approximately 250 visits per dayNo floating requiredCommon diagnoses include STEMI, cardiac, sepsis, stroke, DKA, ETOH, and a variety of emergent conditionsEMR system used is Cerner PowerChartER techs, phlebotomists, RT, pharmacy, and MD / PA / NP available for supportHardwired monitoring (22 monitors, GE) in rooms and at the nurses stationNo inpatient pediatric or behavioral health unitPrimary responsibilities include triage, acute care management, and disposition of emergent patientsNurse aides, ER techs, and dedicated charge nurse provide additional team supportOrientation includes one day of floor-specific trainingScrub color for RNs is blueExpect to be scheduled for holidays in rotation with permanent staffFirst-time travelers are welcome to applyCandidates may not have been employed directly by any CommonSpirit, CHI or Dignity facility in the past year\n \n Requirements\n
Active CA RN license required at the time of consideration; pending licenses not acceptedMinimum 2 years of Emergency Department RN experience required; trauma experience preferredCertifications required : ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, PALS (all must be active and current)Must provide two professional references : one from a supervisor within the last 12 months, and one from a peer or supervisor within the last 3 yearsCompletion of Dysrhythmia (Relias) exam and sterile technique testing required prior to or during orientationCopy of driver’s license required for consideration\n Benefits\n
