Payroll Specialist / HR Assistant for a
Full-Time assignment
with one of our premier Wholesale Distribution clients in
Elmsford, NY (On-site, 5 days / week)
Reporting to the Human Resources Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring the seamless execution of processing two bi-weekly payrolls, as well as supporting the HR department in various projects and administrative tasks. Your contributions will help the company maintain a positive work environment and support our mission of providing exceptional service to our employees. The company can provide SHRM certification training options if necessary.
You must have a sense of urgency, the ability to learn new skills quickly, be highly organized, and detail-oriented. This fast-paced HR department supports 50+ retail locations and the main office. This is an excellent opportunity to learn, fine tune your skills, and grow your career.
Responsibilities :
Maintain and execute the bi-weekly payroll, including off-cycle payrolls for US and Canada
Manage and execute all garnishments, voluntary deductions, and direct deposits
Manage the 401 (k) and RSP deposits, ensuring accuracy of contributions, matches, and loan payments
Understand and adhere to all country, state, and provincial laws and rules
Complete all employee reporting to outside agencies and internal compliance
Ensure accuracy with all transactions to attain employee satisfaction and promote the integrity of employee records and the department
Maintain and update employee records in ADP, Outlook calendar, and the uAttend punch clock
Main point of contact for payroll and payroll-related questions
Prepare reports related to benefits
Provide support for HR projects and initiatives (e.g., integrate with new insurance companies, implement performance review functions, etc.)
At times, assist HR group as required.
Must be able to multitask and assist on various projects when needed
Required Skills :
Knowledge of payroll processes, taxation, and garnishments
SME in ADP's Workforce Now product for Payroll & Tax / Compliance
Some experience in human resources roles is highly preferred
Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail
Strong MS Office skills, especially with Word and Excel
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality
Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced, flexible environment
Ability to manage multiple projects and work within allotted deadlines while maintaining a positive and energetic demeanor
Good track record of employment
Bachelor's degree preferred (or equivalent experience
Preferred Skills :
Experience using or implementing Workforce Now's Time and Attendance / Workforce Module
Familiarity with uAttend, ADP, and Microsoft Outlook email and calendar
