Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and knowledgeable Coding Specialist to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for accurately coding medical diagnoses and procedures, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, and maintaining the integrity of medical records. This role is essential in facilitating efficient billing processes and supporting the overall operations of our medical office.

Skills

• Proficient in CPT, ICD-10-CM, and HCPCS coding specific to obstetrics and gynecology services
• Expert in E / M coding for office visits, consultations, and telehealth
• Skilled in OB package coding for global maternity care, antepartum, delivery, and postpartum services
• Experience coding gynecologic surgical procedures (laparoscopy, hysterectomy, LEEP, D&C, colposcopy, etc.)
• Accurate coding for high-risk obstetrics (e.g., multiple gestations, maternal complications, fetal anomalies)
• Familiarity with modifier usage for split / shared services, assistant surgeon, bilateral procedures, and OB scenarios, etc.
• Proficient in reviewing operative reports, ultrasounds, and pathology results for accurate code assignment
• Strong understanding of National Correct Coding Initiative (NCCI) edits and bundling rules
• Knowledge of payer-specific guidelines and OB / GYN-specific insurance policies
• Skilled in charge capture and ensuring complete documentation for services rendered

Responsibilities

Assign accurate CPT, ICD-10-CM, and HCPCS codes for obstetric, gynecologic, and related procedures.

Review and code provider documentation for office visits, prenatal care, deliveries, postpartum care, and surgeries.

Apply correct coding for global OB packages , high-risk obstetrics, ultrasounds, and gynecologic procedures.

Ensure correct modifier usage for OB / GYN services, including split / shared care, bilateral procedures, and assistant surgeon services.

Audit and validate operative notes, ultrasound reports, and pathology results for complete and accurate code selection.

Pay : $23.00 - $30.00 per hour
