Description : Position Summary
Performs routine receiving, first-piece, in-process and final inspection in accordance with applicable quality system procedures and work instructions. Evaluates materials, components and / or assemblies for conformance to specification requirements or established workmanship standards. Applies basic statistical techniques, including statistical process control and sampling plans, to assess the stability of various processes or reduce collected raw data. Trains and leads new or lower grade level employees in department protocol.
The Project Leader / Inspector III will be working directly with the Quality Supervisor, Engineers, Sales and Purchasing on specific projects with responsibilities to include receiving various castings (25 lbs. max), verifying certifications, various in-process inspections, final inspections, First Article Inspections, and customer / vendor returns.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Supervisory Responsibilities
This position has no supervisory responsibilities. However, an employee serving in this capacity may be asked by the supervisor to coordinate the activities of other department members in the quality assurance laboratory and train others in proper procedures. The Project Leader / Inspector III is required to interact effectively in cross-functional teams dedicated to the resolution of issues in a timely manner.
Education, Training and / or Experience
Associate’s degree (AA) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school; or three to eight years related experience and / or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
