A vacancy exists in the Department of Public Works, Engineering and Transportation, Bureau of Engineering and Construction.

Under general supervision, serves as a project engineer for various storm water drainage and floodplains management projects.
Provides advanced-level engineering project management for Storm Drainage and Floodplains Management Section within the Bureau of Engineering & Construction for the Department of Public Works & Transportation (DPW&T) while relying on a solid background in land development engineering and / or development permitting review. These projects include sustainable drainage projects to reduce flooding and alleviate strain on existing storm water conveyances. Work includes management of design through construction of projects via supervision of in-house and consultant engineers and contractors.

May act as a spokesperson in right-of-way condemnation cases or act as a witness in other judicial proceedings. Performs other related duties as required.

Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor's degree in engineering
plus
Four years' field or office engineering experience.
Additional qualifying education beyond a bachelor's degree may be substituted on a year-for-year basis up to a maximum of two years for the required experience.
OR
Possession of a certificate of registration as an Engineer in Training issued by a State within the United States of America, plus four years' field or office engineering experience.

EXAMINATION PROCEDURE
Applicants will be qualified based on an evaluation of their training and experience, as stated on their application, which includes answers to the supplemental questions. Applicants must state the dates and duties of past and present experience clearly and completely for evaluation purposes.
Physical and Environmental Conditions :
The work of this classification is essentially sedentary. Some positions may involve occasional travel between work sites. (optional statement based on work)
