We are urgently hiring for CNC Machinist with either mill or lathe experience in the Greater Kansas City region with positions offering up to $35 / hour with comprehensive benefits.

Location : Kansas City

Schedule : 1st and 2nd shift openings

Compensation : $22-35 / hour depending on experience

Hiring timeline : Urgently hiring

Summary – CNC Machinist – Mill or Lathe

We are currently staffing several CNC Mill Machinist and CNC Lathe Machinist openings in the Kansas City area and have positions available at various levels, CNC Machine Operator, CNC Machine Setup / Operator, Senior CNC Machinist, and CNC Programmer.

Responsibility Summary – CNC Machinist – Mill or Lathe

  • Set up and operate CNC mills and / or multi-axis lathes using G-code and conversational controls
  • Read and interpret blueprints, GD&T, job routers, and work instructions
  • Use precision measuring tools (micrometers, calipers, height gauges, bore gauges, CMM reports) to verify precision parts with tight tolerances.
  • Optimize feeds / speeds, select tooling, and make offset adjustments to hit quality and throughput targets
  • Perform first-article and in-process inspections; document results
  • Troubleshoot basic issues and collaborate with programming / quality teams
  • Maintain 5S standards, machine PM, and safe work practices

Qualification Summary – CNC Machinist – Mill or Lathe

  • 2+ years as a CNC machinist / operator or setup machinist (mills, lathes, or both)
  • Ability to edit G-code offsets and other various controls
  • Strong print reading and GD&T skills; shop math and trig
  • Experience with workholding, tooling selection, and basic program edits
  • Able to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods
  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical certificate / apprenticeship a plus

    • Preferred Qualifications – CNC Machinist – Mill or Lathe

  • CAM exposure (Mastercam, Fusion 360, GibbsCAM, or similar)
  • Setup on 5-axis, Swiss / turn-mill, or live-tool lathes
  • Experience in regulated industries (AS9100 / ISO13485)
