The Registered Occupational Therapist provides evaluation and treatment for individuals with physical or cognitive impairments that limit their ability to perform daily activities.
Essential Responsibilities : This role requires adherence to privacy regulations concerning Protected Health Information (PHI) and maintaining professional communication with patients, families, healthcare teams, and external agencies. The therapist performs duties within the scope of their licensure, demonstrating the skills necessary to deliver patient care according to departmental policies and competencies. Responsibilities include assessing patient needs, developing and implementing comprehensive care plans, and educating patients on their care. The therapist also provides clinical oversight to Occupational Therapy Assistants.
General Responsibilities : Additional duties may be assigned as needed.
Supervisory Responsibilities : This position does not include supervisory or management duties.
Minimum Qualifications : Education meeting licensure requirements at the time of issuance. Current Occupational Therapy licensure through the appropriate state board. Valid BLS / CPR certification from an approved provider within 30 days of hire or by the end of orientation. If driving is required, a valid driver's license and auto insurance meeting state requirements are necessary.
Preferred Qualifications : Experience in a similar clinical environment is preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities : Strong understanding of Occupational Therapy principles, effective communication skills, and basic computer proficiency.
Physical Requirements : Medium work involving occasional lifting up to 50 lbs and frequent standing or walking for 26-50% of the workday.
