The Fresh Foods Senior Manager provides strategic in-store leadership across Bakery, Deli, Meat, Food Court, and Produce departments, ensuring alignment with store and company objectives. This role focuses on future-oriented planning, overseeing inventory management, vendor coordination, and department standards while directly leading Fresh Department Manager(s) and providing indirect leadership to Assistant Manager(s) and Associate(s) to drive operational execution. This role supports overall store operations by stepping in as acting Store Director when needed, managing storewide functions and covering calls.

Essential duties and responsibilities include overseeing fresh food operations, developing future leaders, strategic planning and organization, offering helpful guest service, providing leadership support, communicating and collaborating, optimizing performance, ensuring food safety, reducing waste, operating and maintaining equipment, driving inventory and merchandising excellence, building cross-department collaboration, ensuring compliance and safety, honoring commitments, and supporting the team.

Qualifications to perform this job successfully include a high school education or equivalent combination, at least five years of relevant experience with two years in a key leadership position, thorough knowledge of the retail food business and perishable department operations, proven merchandising skills, ability to deal tactfully and effectively with guests and all associates, good organizational skills, good oral and written communication skills, WI Certified Food Manager License, ability to learn and use technology and department equipment, and thorough understanding of all safety requirements and company safety policies.

Physical demands and work environment include standing in place for long periods of time, walking in the store, bending, stooping, and kneeling regularly, lifting up to 50 pounds on a frequent basis, and working in a temperature-controlled environment with exposure to changing temperature and humidity, chemical cleaning agents, irritating noises, and wet and slippery floors.

Work schedule for the Fresh Food Sr. Manager is a full-time position that includes mornings, afternoons, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
